Lenny is one of the kindest, gentlest, and sweetest souls you will encounter. Lenny, one of the Cane Corsos confiscated in a cruelty and neglect case in MS, worked hard on building his confidence and has come a long way medically and socially since being welcomed into MLCR.

Riddled with heartworms, our first order of business was treatment which he successfully completed. Socialization with the world beyond the home, yard, and car continues to be a work in progress as we are confident this boy lived his entire life prior to MLCR in the hell hole of a yard in which he was found along with 23 others. With hard work, patience, and positive associations Lenny has acclimated to living inside a home. Things that were once terrifying, such as doorways, thresholds, ice machines, varying floor surfaces, etc., have become accepted parts of his new life.

Lenny was adopted in March of 2024; unfortunately, his adopter became seriously ill and had to return him and a female Corso to MLCR after her health continued to decline. Lenny has successfully lived with dogs of similar sizes and small dogs weighing a mere 16lbs. He is a gentle treat taker and adjusted his play style to the needs of his prior pintsized fosters. At times, Lenny exhibits fearful behavior when encountering new experiences and strangers in the home. It is best he is muzzled when out in public and when there are visitors in the home or confined in his area.
